Given the quality of the land and the level of interest that’s in it so far, Mr Stack says the price expectation is in the region of €17,000/acre

Located in the townland of Loghill East, it’s just 3km from the N21 (Cork-Limerick).

A 37.9-acre farm equidistant (7km) from Rathkeale and Newcastle West in Co Limerick is already under offer, according to selling agent Maurice Stack of Abbeyfeale-based auctioneers Sherry Fitzgerald Stack.

Located in the townland of Loghill East, it’s just 3km from the N21 (Cork-Limerick).

“There’s a huge amount of interest in it,” said Mr Stack.

“It’s a lovely block of land all in one block — as flat as a billiard table. It’s all well fenced and has a central roadway through it.”

Water and electric

The farm has its own water and electric supply and has the added benefit of a derelict house, along with outbuildings.

“The farm buildings are quite old-fashioned,” added Mr Stack. “So they’re not a whole lot of advantage to the next owner; there isn’t any slatted unit, for example.

“But the land is top class. I have 11 enquiries on it and, at the moment, the highest bid on the property is €550,000 (€14,5000/acre) … we’d expect it to go well beyond that.”

Given the quality of the land and the level of interest that’s in it so far, Mr Stack says the price expectation is in the region of €17,000/acre.
