Another top-quality land parcel is new to the market in East Cork — an area that has been very sought after over the last number of years.
The holding in question is a 24-acre tillage parcel at Ballyvaloon, close to Whitegate and Midleton, and a 30-minute drive to Cork City. It’s in an area renowned for fertile pastures, approximately 3.5km southeast of Whitegate and 3km north of Inch Beach.
“It’s fine, level, sound land,” says selling agent Martin O’Farrell, of Midleton-based auctioneers John O’Farrell & Sons.
The quality outbuildings consist of three stables with adjoining sheds and storage, an enclosed training paddock, a shed for feeding cattle, and a feed storage shed — ideally centred between the two fields. At present, the land is all in stubble.
The access is good, with road frontage on the southern side of the property.
“It’s top-quality land,” adds Mr O'Farrell, “and it’s in the heart of the East Cork agricultural area.”
The interest so far has been encouraging too, he says: “The interest in it is good, and we’ve had a lot of enquiries about it so far … there are plenty of local farmers in the area and a good deal of tillage farmers around as well.”
There’s no doubt that this is a "hot" area of high demand and, with such a high-quality parcel for sale here, it’s not surprising that the price expectation is €17,500-€18,500/acre.
