As March comes to an end, the country looks set to enjoy some warmer and more settled weather this week, with temperatures forecast to reach 19C today and 17C on Friday.

According to Met Éireann, a high-pressure system will keep conditions settled this week, giving way to “plenty of sunshine”.

The forecaster says mist and fog will gradually clear from most areas on Monday, but may linger a while longer along coasts before mainly dry and sunny spells set in across most of the country.

Highest temperatures today will range from 13C to 17C with light to moderate southerly winds.

Tonight, conditions will remain dry and clear, with temperatures falling back to around 5C to 8C.

Tuesday is also expected to be dry and sunny, with long spells of hazy sunshine at first turning to blue skies as the day goes on.

Highest temperatures tomorrow will range from 11C to 15C, coolest in the east and south. Tuesday night will be quite similar to Monday night, with further dry and clear conditions expected amid light to moderate and occasionally fresh breezes. Temperatures tomorrow night will range from 4C to 8C.

The fair weather will continue into Wednesday with yet more widespread sunshine forecast, though it will be slightly cooler during the daytime with temperatures ranging from around 11C to 15C.

Met Éireann says that Thursday will be another dry and sunny day nationwide, with temperatures of between 12C and 16C forecast amid a light to moderate easterly wind.

By Thursday night, temperatures will fall back to around 4C to 8C, though it will stay clear and dry.

Finally, more dry, settled, and sunny conditions are expected on Friday, with daytime temperatures again predicted to reach as high as 17C. That said, it will be somewhat cooler in the west.
