A superb 77-acre holding close to the famous Mount Juliet Golf & Country Club in County Kilkenny is attracting attention from near and far.

The sizeable land parcel is in the townland of Jerpoint West on Station Rd, Thomastown, directly adjacent to Mount Juliet.

According to the selling agent Ed Donohoe, of Donohoe Town & Country auctioneers in Kilkenny City, there’s an attractive mixture of tillage and forestry (without premiums) in the property.

“It’s a lovely location that runs down to the River Nore,” says Ed.

“About 65 acres of it are in tillage. Then there’s a small bit of it that goes onto a flood plain and a small section of afforestation.”

The location runs down to the River Nore.

Kilkenny City is 16km away and the M9 is only a few minutes’ drive in this sought-after and prestigious location.

“It’s dual-purpose land,” says Ed.

It could even suit a hobby farmer if they wanted to get planning permission for a home, for example

"But it’s good quality land too; it’s sand-based land running down to the river.”

The mixture of high quality with good drainage and access make this parcel very attractive to anyone looking for an additional outside farm holding and there is a generous amount of road frontage.

“It’s an interesting piece of ground for sure,” says Ed, “and we’re guiding between €16,000 and €18,000/acre.”
