Watch: Trump shows chart unveiling global reciprocal tariffs

U.S. President Donald Trump showed a chart unveiling global reciprocal tariffs during an event at the White House on Wednesday (April 2). The new rates charged on most countries showed rates ranging from 10% to 49% on the first board and up to 50% on later boards.

With a few exceptions, the tariff rate being imposed by the U.S. on most countries was around half of what those countries charged. The board displayed a 20% tariff on all goods that come into the US from the EU, Pharmaceuticals will not be included in this for now.

Donald Trump dubbed the tariffs as "kind reciprocal" and hit out at "pathetic" European countries, claiming that "they rip us off".
