New routes to the Portuguese island of Madeira and a new charter service to Palma are part of the summer schedule at Shannon Airport, which was officially launched on Monday.

Overall the airport will have up to 190,000 new seats available on flights. The airport will offer 36 services to 11 countries, including twice weekly services to Madeira, the first of which took off on Sunday. A new charter service to Palma with TUI has also been added to the schedule.

Overall, Shannon Airport will see an 11% increase in summer 2025 services compared to 2024, including 16 extra weekly departures with Ryanair to locations including Faro, Malaga, Alicante, Barcelona, Edinburgh, and Porto.

“We are anticipating a bustling summer with 332 weekly flights on our 36 services," said Shannon Airport Group chief executive Mary Considine. "The increased frequency on 13 services, adding 190,000 extra seats, reflects Shannon Airport's growing popularity as a vital gateway for European, UK, and transatlantic travel."
