There were headlines and talking points everywhere over the weekend. Leitrim gave an unprecedented walkover to Fermanagh, Stephen Cluxton is back, Ethan Rafferty was dropped, Derry are relegated, Pádraic Joyce wasn’t hanging around when it came to making changes on Saturday evening for their helterskelter contest in Croke Park and Offaly beat Kildare to blow the promotion battle in Division Three wide open.

I was in Austin Stack Park on Saturday evening for what was an impressive 10-point win for the home side. Before the match, Kerry backs were to the wall and there probably was uncertainty in the camp. The league up to that point had been inconsistent, both performance- and results-wise. The good mixed with the bad.
