The 36-acre farm is in part of the world where dairying dominates but where there’s also a high concentration of equestrian and tillage farms.

New to the market with Midleton-based auctioneer David Keane is a high-quality 36-acre land parcel that represents the best of land from a busy marketplace in East Cork.

The holding in question is Kilcor South, near Castlelyons. Located 10km from Fermoy and 15km from Midleton, this is in part of the world where dairying dominates but where there’s also a high concentration of equestrian and tillage farms. This property is currently in tillage.

“It’s a sweet piece of land,” says David, emphasizing the generous length of road frontage that the property has. “There are very good sheds with it as well. There are 3-column sheds with silage walls.

“There are about three acres in the corner of the property that are a bit wet and in need of attention, but the rest of it is superb.”

There are no single farm payments coming with the lands, which would be suitable for any farming enterprise.

“This is in a prime area,” adds David. “It’s near the M8 (Dublin-Cork motorway) in a very accessible part of the world.”

There has already been a good level of interest in the holding and the agent confirms that it's already under offer.

“We would expect it to make in the region of €16,000 - €17,000/acre,” says David – an estimate that may well be exceeded.
