Air purifiers aren’t usually the most exciting gadgets, but SwitchBot has found a way to make them more appealing with the SwitchBot Air Purifier Table. This unique device isn’t just about improving indoor air quality — it doubles as a stylish, functional table with built-in wireless charging and customisable ambient lighting.
Unlike the typical bulky and industrial-looking air purifiers, the SwitchBot Air Purifier Table is designed to blend into your home. Its sleek, cylindrical design gives it a modern aesthetic, and the waterproof tabletop adds practicality, allowing it to function as a bedside or small coffee table. The build quality feels solid, and the scratch-resistant materials should help protect against wear and tear — especially useful if you have pets or kids.
The customisable RGB lighting has ten colour options to match your mood or décor. SwitchBot clearly wanted this device to be more than just an air purifier. However, you can also use the colours to indicate the air quality with green signifying excellent and red bad.
The purifier features what SwitchBot calls a high Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of 400m³/h (236 CFM), which is impressive for an air purifier of this size. It can purify a 20m² (215 sq. ft.) room in just over seven minutes and cover up to 167m² (1,800 sq. ft.) in an hour, making it well-suited for both small and large spaces.
Its three-stage filtration system includes pre-filters that trap larger particles like dust and pet hair, activated carbon filters that help eliminate odours, and HEPA filters that capture 99.97% of airborne particles, including allergens and bacteria.
For pet owners – I have two dogs and a cat – it’s particularly effective. SwitchBot claims it removes 93.45% of pet hair, 99.01% of cat allergens, and 98.18% of odours in just 30 minutes. In my experience, it noticeably reduced pet-related smells and airborne fur, making the air feel fresher and cleaner.
The SwitchBot app provides complete control over the device, allowing you to monitor air quality, adjust fan speeds, and schedule operations remotely. Later this year, matter compatibility will be added via SwitchBot hubs for those with smart home setups.
While the app is convenient, physical buttons are located just under the table surface, allowing you to control the purifier directly.
The purifier operates at just 20dB in low mode, making it whisper-quiet and ideal for use in bedrooms or offices. However, at full speed, the fans get much louder, but you won’t even notice them most of the time.
A one-click pet mode optimises purification when pets are around, while a built-in fragrance diffuser subtly enhances the indoor atmosphere.
Qi-standard wireless charging is a nice addition, but it only supports 7.5W on iPhone and up to 15W on Android.
