Agricultural lands that come up for sale within striking distance of Cork City carry a significant premium on their value, with a number of holdings in the commuter belt having set strong prices in recent years.
A new holding of 47 acres is listed with Cork City auctioneers Irish & European, and is just off the main N22 to the west of Ballincollig — very close to the beginning of the Ballincollig motorway bypass.
The vast majority of this parcel is in grass and enjoys an attractive southerly aspect. The villages of Ovens and Kilumney are just across the main road, while Cork City centre is a 15-minute drive away.
“The land is of excellent quality,” says selling agent Trevor McCarthy.
“It slopes down from its northern boundary to its southern boundary … we’ve had no offers just yet but plenty of good interest in it.”
Access is good, with a local public road leading north from the N22 directly to the lands. Alternatively, a right of way also gives access to the property a little farther west.
The asking price of €17,000/acre is reasonable for the quality, location, and substantial quantity.
