FAI appoint Christina Kenny as Chief Operating Officer

Christina Kenny has been announced as the new Chief Operating Officer of the FAI.
Kenny - who was previously an Independent Committee Member at the FAI - will report directly to the FAI Chief Executive Officer, David Courell, who held the role before his elevation to his current post following the departure of Jonathan Hill.
Roscommon native Kenny brings 25 years of extensive experience in leadership, operational excellence, and strategic development.
In her new position, the FAI said she "will oversee the day-to-day operations of the FAI, focusing on enhancing operational frameworks and fostering innovation".
In collaboration with the FAI Board Members, SLT, and key stakeholders, Kenny will lead strategic planning initiatives that align with the FAI’s objectives.
FAI CEO Courell said: “Christina’s extensive experience and commitment to good governance make her an exceptional choice for this critical role. We are confident that her strategic vision and operational expertise will be a significant contribution to Irish football”.
Kenny has worked in prominent Irish companies including NTR Group, Voxpro and Taoglas with a background that spans numerous sectors, including sports, education, technology, and renewable energy.
THE FAI describe Kenny the qualities believe will make her a success in the role: "Christina has a deep understanding of the organisation and a commitment to the growth of football in Ireland. She is also a FIFA licensed agent so has a wider understanding of the landscape."
