City to Country: What €695,000 gets in Dublin, Killarney, Tramore and Wexford 

The key attraction for Saint Patrick, 61 St Declan’s Road in Marino, Dublin 3 is probably its location, which is close to Clontarf and within a 20-minute walk from both the Dart Station and promenade.

According to Sean Tobin of Sherry FitzGerald Clontarf the other main selling point for the extensively renovated 1920s built end of terrace property is its condition.

“No corner has been left untouched and no expense has been spared,’’ he says, noting that since buying it 15 years ago the owners have upgraded the bathrooms, done some work on the attic, and fitted a contemporary kitchen with quartz worktops.

A buyer with deep pockets and a disinclination to do their own decorating, could make life easy for themselves by purchasing this fully furnished four year old detached house at 6 Bellview Court, Ballydowney in Killarney.

“ It’s spacious, luxurious, energy efficient and in showhouse condition,’’ says Ted Healy of DNG Healy who is seeking offers of €695,000 for the four-bed property which is located two and half km from the town centre.

Built in 2021, it’s situated in an ultra-modern gated development of just three properties. “Fitted with a heat pump and triple glazing it has an A2 BER,” says Mr Healy noting that it offers 176 sq metre of accommodation over three levels.

The living room at the front has alcove units and oak herringbone flooring while the large kitchen diner has modern dark grey units with quartz countertops, a large island and a huge set of sliding doors.

Although it’s called after an island in Kerry, Valentia in Tramore has something of the look of a Spanish or Mexican hacienda.

This is partly due to the terracotta/ redbrick colour scheme in the kitchen and partly because it's an exceptionally spacious H shaped house which has a large courtyard and the appearance of being two properties joined together.

Listing the five-bed house and its two-thirds of an acre site with a guide of €695,000, John Rohan of Sherry FitzGerald Rohan says it was originally built in the 1990s as two separate properties – one of which was farriers workshop.

Quoting a guide of in excess of €695,000, Nick Popplewell of Sherry FitzGerald says this is a splendid option for a family or a buyer considering a move to the country.

The 1990s-built house was completely renovated by owners who bought it two years ago. “After they upgraded everything including the kitchen and bathrooms they decided to add the sunhouse,’’ reveals Mr Popplewell.
