The Mixx StreamQ TV Bundle combines the StreamQ Surround wireless headphones with the StreamPort TV audio transmitter for immersive 3D surround sound, crystal-clear dialogue, and wire-free music streaming. Whether you're watching movies late at night, enhancing speech clarity, or upgrading your sound system with Bluetooth connectivity, this package offers a versatile solution.

The Mixx StreamQ surround headphones are built for comfort, with well-padded over-ear cups that provide a snug fit. However, they were too tight for me. However, after a week of regular use, they loosened, making them infinitely more comfortable. They also feel lightweight on the head, making them ideal for long listening sessions.
Although the headphones don’t feature any active noise cancellation, the earcups offer decent passive noise isolation, helping to block out background distractions.

While the design is comfortable and functional, the materials used lean towards the budget-friendly side. The plastic construction, though sturdy, doesn’t have the premium feel of higher-end models. The physical controls are on the right earcup for easy volume, playback, and mode-switching access.
The StreamPort TV Audio Transmitter is compact but has a large dial and stubby aerial. Its small footprint means it won’t take up much space, and it offers a good range of connectivity options, including USB-C power input, 3.5mm audio, and optical input/output ports, making it compatible with a wide range of devices.

The StreamQ Surround headphones deliver an immersive audio experience, especially for films and TV shows. The 3D surround sound feature creates a spacious, cinematic feel, making action sequences more dynamic and dialogue more defined. The Voice Mode is impressive, enhancing speech clarity for news, chat shows, and dialogue-heavy scenes. This should make a noticeable difference for those who struggle to hear conversations over background noise.
Switching to Music Mode, the sound profile is well-balanced, offering clear mids, crisp highs, and a controlled bass response. The wide soundstage allows individual instruments and vocals to stand out, creating an enjoyable listening experience across different genres. However, those who prefer deep, thumping bass might find the low end lacking, as it doesn’t deliver the same impact as bass-heavy headphones designed for music lovers.
The StreamPort TV transmitter is a unique device. While the device supports 3.5mm analogue and Optical connections, I used the latter due to a noticeable improvement in sound quality. Its low-latency audio transmission means there are no lip-sync delays when watching TV. I tested two TVs, and the transmitter was never out of sync.
A nice bonus is that the StreamPort transmitter can connect to any Bluetooth headphones, so you’re not restricted to the ones in the bundle.
The StreamQ Surround headphones' battery life is up to 20 hours on a single charge, far from class-leading. Still, it's more than enough to get you through multiple viewing sessions without needing to recharge.
The Bluetooth connection was reliable, with quick pairing and a strong wireless range that maintained a stable link whether connected to the StreamPort TV transmitter, a smartphone, or a tablet.

What sets the Mixx StreamQ TV Bundle apart is its dual-function transmitter. In Transmit Mode (TX), the StreamPort TV allows audio to be sent wirelessly from the TV to one or two pairs of StreamQ Surround headphones simultaneously. This makes it perfect for shared viewing experiences without disturbing others. Meanwhile, in Receive Mode (RX), the device acts as a Bluetooth receiver, allowing music to be streamed from a smartphone, tablet, or laptop to a speaker system or soundbar. If you have an older hi-fi system that sounds great but doesn’t have wireless functionality, this is an excellent way of upgrading it without breaking the bank.
A handy feature is direct sound control (bypass mode), which allows adjustment of the headphone volume independently of the TV or media device – ideal for those who prefer to listen at higher volumes without affecting anyone else in the room.
The Mixx StreamQ TV Bundle is a well-rounded wireless audio solution that delivers comfort, battery life, and low-latency performance. The 3D surround sound and Voice Mode enhance the viewing experience by making dialogue clearer and creating an immersive atmosphere for movies. The StreamPort TV transmitter is a versatile choice for various home setups.
