Desire Lines: The tenth annual Arc Fashion Show and more

Some of what we're loving this Weekend

Tickets for this year’s annual Arc fashion show, which takes place at the RDS on March 27 in aid of the cancer support centres, are on sale now.
The 10th annual night of celebrating Irish fashion while raising vital funds will showcase 26 renowned Irish fashion designers, seven milliners, and five accessories’ designers, with artist and designer Caroline Duffy set to deliver a show-stopping finale to mark the anniversary celebration (pictured is a 100% silk design from the designer).
Best-selling author and breast cancer survivor Cathy Kelly has also been announced to open the show. Tickets €65, plus booking fees.

Kipling bags are renowned for being both hard-working and fun.
Offering a huge range of bags, backpacks, luggage and accessories, the Belgian brand with the cute monkey logo, has been plying its wares for 30 years.
Their mid-sized Kazuki backpack comes with a compartment for a 13- or 15-inch laptop and reviews from satisfied customers call it stylish, comfortable and chic, making it a great option for office days or college lectures. €99.90-€104.90.

Need a spring kick start? Bike Row Ski was developed and launched in Dublin in 2018.
Firmly established in Douglas, Cork, this innovative fitness experience does exactly what it says on the tin — you cycle, row and ski in a 45-minute, coach-led class.
The difference here though is clients’ heart rates are monitored using Polar Optical Heart Rate Monitors, and are displayed on a wall-mounted screen so that real time advice is available during fitness sessions.
BikeRowSki Strength is a recent addition to the Dublin market. Douglas — watch this space.

On March 6, Ballymaloe House Hotel will host an exclusive wine dinner – ‘Women in Wine’ in a collaboration with Tindal Wines, to celebrate International Women’s Day.
The evening will be led by Harriet Tindal, featuring winemaker Pauline Genot from Domaine Truchetet, and Ballymaloe House’s sommeliers, Anna and trainee Sophia.
Executive Head Chef Dervilla Flynn and her team will prepare a seasonal 5-course menu paired with exquisite wines from female-led vineyards.

The 14-Day Mani is the ideal at-home solution for gel nails.
The latest collection features 64 new shades, from everyday basics to on-trend chocolate browns inspired by Pantone’s Colour of the Year. Watch out for new chrome-in-a-bottle and metallic shades too, all set to roll out in seasonal instalments.
We recommend the starter kit, including 54W LED Digital Lamp, 4 new Gentle Gels Polish, Base Coat, Top Coat, Buffer, Nail File, Acetone Remover and Steel Cuticle Pusher, €196.
One for the list for Mother’s Day.

The clever folks at Chimac, Dublin’s famous Korean fried-chicken joint, have performed another public service by launching Kimchi Ketchup.
Zippy and tangy, the sauce is the ultimate zeitgeist condiment, marrying the sweetness of tomato ketchup with the umami tang of zingy kimchi.
They suggest serving it to spice up fries burgers and rice dishes or using it as a zippy marinade for meat. €7.50 from Tesco, Avoca, Donnybrook Fair and Lotts & Co or online at chimac.ie and in retailers including Selfridges, Delli, Sous Chef, Tesco Ireland, Avoca, Donnybrook Fair and Lotts & Co.

When Next We Meet, a boutique music festival set in the grounds of Raheen House, Clonmel, has just announced its first wave of artists for the 2025 edition — and it’s a cracker.
Villagers, Pillow Queens and Morgana (previously of Saint Sister fame) are all on the bill for the weekend of June 7 and 8, with tickets from €45 on sale now.
In preparation, we’ll be picking up one of Morgana’s delightful ‘prepared to party ready to cry’ sweaters, €50.
