If you spend hours at your desk daily, a good ergonomic chair isn’t just a luxury — it’s a necessity. Poor posture can lead to back pain, neck strain, and overall discomfort, affecting productivity and long-term health. The BS14 ergonomic office chair is designed to solve these issues with a feature-packed design that promotes better posture, reduces pressure points, and adapts to your body’s movements.

Design and build

The BS14 looks sleek and modern and is available in black or grey to match most office setups. Its mesh backrest provides good ventilation, so there’s no fear of overheating during summer. The seat is padded with high-density foam, designed in a “waterfall” shape to relieve pressure on your legs and improve circulation.

The build quality feels solid, supporting up to 136kg, and the five-star base with caster wheels moves smoothly across different surfaces. It’s also easy to assemble, taking around 20–30 minutes with clear instructions.

One minor downside? While the chair looks premium, some plastic elements on the armrests and base might not feel as durable.

Ergonomics and adjustability

The BS14 is the most adjustable chair I’ve tested. The lumbar support is independently adjustable, allowing you to move it up or down to comfortably support your lower back. This is a great feature, especially for those who struggle with back pain.

The backrest also has “Snug Back Tracking,” which moves slightly with your body as you shift positions.

The chair supports a 98° to 125° reclining angle, allowing you to lean back when taking a break. The tilt tension is adjustable, so you can make it easier or harder to recline.

The 8° forward seat tilt is an interesting feature which encourages a more upright posture. This is useful if you struggle with slouching, as it naturally pushes your hips forward, engaging your core muscles.

Armrests and headrest

The multifunctional armrests adjust in height, depth, and angle, making it easy to find a comfortable position whether you’re typing, reading, or relaxing. They offer great support, but I found them solid — some users might prefer softer, cushioned armrests. I also didn’t love that the armrests provide little resistance and can easily move out of position when you get up or sit down.

The headrest is both height- and angle-adjustable, offering good neck support. It’s covered in a comfortable, breathable mesh material like the backrest.

Overall comfort and daily use

Once set up, the BS14 delivers a comfortable and supportive seating experience. The breathable mesh keeps things cool, and the adjustments allow for a highly personalised fit. The seat depth is adjustable, catering to different body types, which is an excellent inclusion at this price point. The overall level of adjustability is particularly useful for offices with hot-swappable desks, where different people will use the chair.

Verdict

The BS14 offers an impressive range of adjustability features. It’s well-designed, easy to set up, and provides strong lumbar support, good adjustability, and solid build quality. It’s a well-rounded choice for those looking for an ergonomic chair that promotes good support and posture.
