Property Developer Cairn Homes has sought permission from Cork City Council for a Large Scale Residential Development in Douglas.

The proposed development includes the construction of 108 residential units comprising eight one-bed apartments and 100 two-bed apartments.

The 108 residential units will be spread across two blocks, which will range between four and five storeys in height.

Located on Carrs Hill/Carrigaline Road in Douglas, the development will replace 40 residential units consisting of 20 two-bed duplexes and 20 3-bed duplexes, which have been permitted under An Bord Pleanála.

Meanwhile, permission has been granted by Cork City Council for another Large-Scale Residential Development in Blarney.

Developers Clockstrike Ltd received conditional permission for the construction of almost 250 residential dwellings.

Located at Ringwood, Shean Upper, Blarney, the development includes 101 apartments in four buildings, ranging in height from three to four storeys.

It also comprises a further 30 duplex units, and 115 two and three-storey houses will also be included, ranging from two-bed to four-bed dwellings.

The development also includes a creche, which would be 380 sq m and have space to accommodate 61 children.

Car parking, EV charging points, bike and motorcycle parking, and open spaces are also prart of the development.

The development represents phase one of the development in the Blarney East/Ringwood Expansion Area.
